SDB:The installed 6.3 ALPHA-AXP system does not boot.

Version: 6.3

Symptom:

After you have installed the system it does not boot, but the computer remians on (often a blinking cursor is obsereved in the upper left hand corner)

This problem does not concern the sytems using the ARC- or NT-BIOS.

Cause:

The installer cannot change the path (/var/adm/) to (/) on the harddisk.

Solution:

Pass the the following boot options:

boot fd0:/vmlinux.gz root=/dev/fd0 fake_initrd

the option fake_initrd enables installer to switch paths. <keyword>axp,milo,installation,alpha</keyword>
