SDB:Telnet reports "unknown host"

Telnet reports "unknown host"

Symptom:

Telnet reports the following error: a

telnet "IP address"

works, but a

telnet "host"

does not. The host name is not solved correctly, although
/etc/hosts
is set correctly (supposedly).

Cause:

At the end of a line a host file is missing.

Solution:

Goto the directory

/etc

, log in as user root and edit the file hosts. Please make sure that every line ends with a line feed (a RETURN at the end of the entry).
