Situation

You want to use Kylix.

Procedure

Register at the URL below to obtain your "serial number" and "authorization key":

https://bdn.borland.com/cgi-bin/login/new_user.cgi

Once you have successfully registered, get the necessary license key and serial number at http://www.borland.com/products/downloads/download_kylix.html. On that page, select Open Edition Linux Version 2 from the Keys Only table. The requested data will be sent to you by e-mail.

Proceed as follows in order to activate Kylix:

1. Start your Linux system.
2. Login as user and start your desktop.
3. Press the key combination ALT + F2 under KDE.
4. Enter "xterm" in the input field.
5. Click "Run".

Then execute the following commands:

mkdir ~/.borland
export LANG=US_en
source /opt/kylix2/bin/kylixpath
/opt/kylix2/bin/kreg

and enter the corresponding data. To start Kylix, enter the command:

/opt/kylix2/bin/startkylix

<keyword>kylix,setup,activate,serial,authorization</keyword>
