Situation

You want to know what packages are included on the DVD but not on the CD.

Procedure

This is a list of the packages NOT included on the CDs. The list is structured as follows: the upper section contains the .i586.rpm packages (packages for Intel x86 and compatible chips) and the lower section the .noarch.rpm packages (packages that can be installed directly but do not include any platform-dependent program code).

Explanation:

This new package distribution enables us to offer our customers a wider package selection without having to increase the number of CD/DVD media. In case you are not able to use the DVD as your source media, these packages can also be downloaded from our FTP server.

For this purpose, visit the German mirror site:

You can select and donwload the packages from the list and subsequently install them by way of YaST2. <keyword>dvd,cd,package,rpm,source,media,82,different,list</keyword>
