SDB:Collecting Sound Card Information

Situation
You would like to submit information on your sound card and its configuration to the SuSE Advanced Support Service.
Procedure
You use SuSE Linux 7.3 and newer
- Start YaST2.
- Select the category "Misc".
- Click on "Post a support query".
- Please enter registration data, if it has not been done yet.
- Select "Sound".
- Insert the following text in the box:
Information for the Advanced Support Service - Send this message.
Wait for the confirmation that your e-mail has been received, then call the SuSE Advanced Support Service - Multimedia under (see below).
You use a previous SuSE Linux version
- Start your Linux system.
- Log in as a user and start your desktop.
- In KDE, press the key combination ALT+F2.
- Enter "xterm" in the box.
- Click on "Execute".
- A new window will pop up; enter the command "su".
- Now enter the root password.
- Enter the command "cd /tmp".
Now enter the following commands:
lspci -v > info.txt
lspci -n >> info.txt
lsmod >> info.txt
procinfo >> info.txt
pnpdump -c >> info.txt
cat /proc/ioports >> info.txt
cat /proc/dma >> info.txt
cat /proc/asound/sndstat >> info.txt
cat /etc/modules.conf >> info.txt
In this way you have created the file /tmp/info.txt. This file contains the information on your sound card. Please send the contents of this text file in ASCII format to support@suse.de. Please enclose your registration code. Wait for the confirmation that your e-mail has been received, then call the SuSE Advanced Support Service.
