SDB:Chipcard Reader REINER SCT cyberJack Does Not Work
Version: 9.1
Symptom
You are using a Reiner SCT cyberJack chip card reader (usually in connection with the Moneyplex application). However, this device does not work in SUSE LINUX 9.1.
Cause
As indicated in the README
, the driver has not yet (or not fully) been adapted to kernel 2.6.
The manufacturer (Reiner SCT) is aware of the problem. The company has developed a solution that is expected to be included in the Linux kernel from version 2.6.8.
Solution
Until the release of kernel version 2.6.8, cyberJack USB can be used with a kernel patch. This patch is made available by Reiner SCT. To get the patch, contact support@reiner-sct.com
.
Please note that SUSE LINUX AG does not provide any support for the deployment of third-party kernels.
An update to kernel 2.6.8 or later releases is not planned for version 9.1 of our distribution. <keyword>cyberjack,moneyplex,chipcard,reader</keyword>
