Boot off the CD

Load the file CD1/ISERIES64 as *STMF.

Bootloader configuration in the installed system

The lilo script will write a bootable kernel to a kernel slot, or it will generate a stream file for *STMF or *NWSTG booting. An example config:

default=linux
# kernel slot to use
boot=B

# kernel ELF binary
image=/boot/vmlinux
       label=linux
       initrd=/boot/initrd
       # kernel cmdline options
       # quiet to surpress the useless kernel messages
       # sysrq= to allow backtrace when things go downhill
       append="root=/dev/iseries/vda1 quiet sysrq=1"
